Barnes & Noble Book Fair

Multi-author booksignings are definitely the way to go! It was entirely too much fun socializing. The time flew by far too fast. I checked my cell phone which also passes as my watch what I thought was 30 minutes in and it had already been 2 hours.

Barnes & Noble was a great host. We all did really well in book sales . . . I hope to be able to do this every year.

Deep in the Heart of Texas

At the 3rd Grader assembly last evening the kiddos sang Deep in the Heart of Texas. Cute, right?

Everybody knows that first line. It's usually sung like this:

The stars at night so big and bright. Clap, clap, clap, clap. Deep in the Heart of Texas.

Duh--duh-duh-duh, Duh--duh-duh-duh Clap, clap, clap, clap. Deep in the Heart of Texas.

When the kids sang all the words I tried to remember them. Of course my memory sparks out and I promptly forgot them, but no worries Tate knows them -- yet when I asked him that devil grin came out and and the little heathen child basically hijacked the words from me because that's the kind of contrary little Texan I'm raising out here. Geesch.

Fortunately I have a friend who is a conpendium of vast knowledge and she supplied the words.

So, for ya'll who'd like to know how the rest of the song goes:

The stars at night so big and bright clap clap clap clap Deep in the Heart of Texas

The prairie sky is wide and high clap clap clap clap Deep in the heart of Texas

The sage in bloom is like perfume clap clap clap clap Deep in the heart of Texas

Reminds me of the one I love clap clap clap clap Deep in the heart of Texas.
